Restoration Projects

Commission Tribes are actively involved in salmon restoration efforts throughout the Klamath River Basin. To implement and contribute to the important restoration and recovery activities being conducted by KRITFWC tribes, annual funding is received from the Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery Fund (PSCRF).

The PCSRF was established by Congress in 2000 to provide grants to tribes and states in the Pacific Northwest to assist tribal, state, and local salmon conservation and recovery efforts. The following is a list of historical funding received and information regarding specific projects conducted by each tribe. The PCSRF is one component of many activities and projects that have been initiated to recover Pacific salmon and steelhead listed under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).

KRIFWC has received a total of over $7.6 million from PCSRF for FY’s 2000 – 2008 and implemented 178 projects. Of these 178 projects, 152 are completed (85%) and 26 are ongoing (15%).
